Talk:Newark-Pompton Turnpike

Latest comment: 13 years ago by Yesfan3587

The history section says there were tolls at Newark, Montclair, Pine Brook, and Singac. However, Pine Brook is nowhere near the current alignment of the turnpike. If the turnpike followed Bloomfield Avenue, the same would be true about Singac. Was the road on a different alignment? This is a bit confusing and needs to be made clear.--Yesfan3587 (talk) 00:53, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Upon viewing Google Earth, I discovered the the actual brook after which Pine Brook is named does intersect with the Passaic River fairly close to the turnpike. There may have been a bridge over this brook that was part of the turnpike's alignment.--Yesfan3587 (talk) 17:16, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
