Why is New Caledonia the only French overseas possession in FIFA? edit

Most of the other French overseas territories and deparments seem to have football teams, but only New Caledonia is in FIFA. Does anyone know the reason for this? Is it something to do with New Caledonia's gradual moves towards independence? --Jfruh (talk) 16:37, 1 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
