Notability tagging edit

The act has had 2 UK Top 20 hits, and chart placements in several other countries too. Furthermore the track "I Know" is often seen as a defining track of the era, being one of the first wave of rave tracks to crossover into the charts. To my mind there is no question of notability according to the guidelines for bands. I don't have any online citations to hand, nor have i managed to decipher the correct procedure for responding to a challenge to notability, so I am sure this comment will only be part of the information required. However, I thought I would at least mention it. PeteMoore 18:49, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Overwritten article edit

There now seems to be a clash here. There was an early 1990s group called New Atlantic, see the entry under the singer Berri. Not sure how to set up a disambiguation page for the name 'New Atlantic'

'Dfb1220' has just overwritten the old article with stuff about the American band. Against Wiki rules surely?

I'm really tempted to just revert this to the English New Atlantic, but I suppose that would just lead to a tedious edit war. This current article reeks of PR.

Indeed. I have reverted the article to its original state, dealing with th UK rave band. If someone wants to write a real encyclopedia article about the newly formed U.S. band (possibly using some of the material that User:Dfb1220 added, although most of it really seems like advertising stuff and should be stripped down to encyclopedic facts), Wikipedia:Disambiguation contains advice on how to handle such cases. In any case it is not acceptable to overwrite an existing topic, essentially deleting the old article.
