Disputed content edit

@Nevena ESC fan: I'll explain to you why I've removed the content, bulletpoint by bulletpoint.

  • her sister Jelena, an architect, who she always tried to copy. As a result of this, Nevena skipped a grade just [...] This statement was editorialised, which per MOS:EDITORIAL is not allowed, so I fixed the tone to make it encyclopedic.
  • They did manage to win Barbara Dex Award but since they didn't qualify for the final, Serbia decided to take a one-year break from the contest. I've kept in the bit about the Barbara Dex, but removed the "managed" bit because as above, it's editorializing it. There's no evidence that the failure to qualify directly caused Serbia to withdraw - sure, they withdrew, but there's no source provided to show that this was the reason for it, and this is one of the unsourced pieces of content that I mentioned in the edit summary.
  • The great detail about how Nevena voted as a juror in Eurovision 2015 is WP:FANCRUFT which is not due for inclusion. We do not include this on any other juror page so we're not making an exception for Nevena.
  • She opened the so-called Festival New divas with her songs "Bal" and "Trebam tebe" and she continued her performance with songs Feel, You Shook Me All Night Long and Hurt, before finishing with Simply the Best from Tina Turner. This is, once again, giving undue weight per WP:DUE to content that is not important enough to include.
  • Although she published just the lyrics video, the song instantly became the biggest hit in entire Serbia and the rest of the region. Just three days later she published the English version called "Dangerous Drug", which also received positive reviews. Due to university commitments, she made the official music video three months after the lyrics version. The demand was so great that it even exceeded the English version in terms of views. Radio stations played the song constantly, sometimes more than once a day, and it's been her most-watched song on YouTube platform thus far. This is entirely unsourced, another piece of unsourced content like I mentioned in the edit summary, and reads like an advertisement. Adding content like this could get you accused of being a publicist for the subject of the article in question, and that usually ends in a block.
  • I removed the word "successful" from the paragraph about "Moja molitva" as it violates WP:NPOV and once again reads like an advertisement. I also changed "got" to "received" as it reads more fluently in English.
  • I removed the extra details on her winning the 2019 Serbian Eurovision selection as they are once again WP:FANCRUFT that are not relevant.
  • Already after her first rehearsal, impressions were very positive. Her emotional performance and a spectacular rendition of the song dedicated to her husband[1] amazed the press center and won the hearts of Europe. After rehearsals, she won the first daily poll with a staggering 53% of the vote![2] She book her place in the final having been placed in the top five by the jury votes and in seventh place by the televoters.[3] In the grand final, she participated in between two big favourites, Mahmood and Luca Hanni. This may be why she ended up a with lower placement in the end. Televoters placed her in 13th spot, while the jurors ranked her 19th, which meant she won 18th place overall with 89 points.[4] This entire section reads like an advertisement again and once again violates WP:NPOV. You also include content about polls which are not WP:DUE for inclusion in a Wikipedia article, and you WP:EDITORIALIZE the thing about "this may be why she ended up with a lower placement" when this is just speculation.
  • Nevena surprised everyone with her new song called "Ljubav u bojama" (Love in Colors) released on 24 June because it was a song with a touch of the eighties. The song was well received by the audience and critics as being played on the radio everyday and reaching over 150,000 views on YouTube in just four days. She wrote lyrics and music, while she also recorded backing vocals. The arrangement of the song was made by her old associate and producer Boris Krstajić, who also played keyboards, while Aleksandar Sedlar was on guitar.[5] In the middle of the year, on 15 July, Nevena participated in the show "Zvezde pevaju zvezde xtra" where she made her own version of the song "Produži dalje" (Carry On) by Zdravko Čolić. I'm very excited because it's a song from Zdravko Čolić and authors Bora Đorđević and Kornelije Kovač. It wasn't easy and there's a huge amount of responsibility for me, but it also brings me a lot of happiness and pleasure and I can't wait to see how will people react to that cover, she said.[6] After all this success, her fans eagerly waited for her first album, as well as her first big solo concert which she announced by the end of the year, but was later cancelled due Coronavirus. I removed this because it once again violates WP:NPOV and reads like an advertisement for Nevena. There's no evidence that she "surprised everyone".
  • I removed the entire section about ESC250 because it's WP:FANCRUFT. The ESC250 poll does not get included in any other Eurovision page and does not even have its own Wikipedia page, and is not relevant for inclusion. You had previously reverted these inclusions because "Nevena was happy about these results", which quite frankly does not matter. It still does not make it relevant enough to include.
  • Finally, I changed the tense in the paragraph about her pregnancy to past because she isn't pregnant anymore, and removed the extra detail about what her child's name is because it simply is not WP:DUE for inclusion.

Hope this helps. ser! (chat to me - see my edits) 13:33, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
