Most of this is almost certainly derived from material put out by the network itself. it includes statements like "how we teach about conservation" But the organization is almost certainly important, and perhaps they would release the materials to Wikipedia.

But I think a better course would be rewriting, for the tone is very much more promotional than encyclopedic. For an explanation, see our Business FAQ (which also applies to non-profit organisations). I'll be glad to help with it.DGG (talk) 10:05, 1 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

DGG, thanks for the reference - I just checked out the business FAQ, and in the interest of full disclosure I work with the Network, so am listing some edits I just made to the page:

I added a section about NCEP's journal. I added some internal links to terms that I thought were a bit esoteric (open educational resources, active learning, conservation biology). I also corrected the TIEE reference, which is in press, not publicly available (though I think it will be a great chance for someone else to summarize a third party evaluation of our resources when it comes out...).

If any of these seem promotional, my apologies, and please feel free to remove them. I will continue to post any changes I make on the talk page, though now that I know it is discouraged, I will keep my involvement to a minimum, and will limit myself to adding new third party references as they arise. 216.73.248.71 (talk) 16:49, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I hope that with these changes the article has a much more neutral tone and cleaner writing/look. I also linked some more terms to wikipedia pages to clarify them, changed headings, and included a list of Workshop locations. I removed the tags because although I was originally basing some of the content off NCEP materials (and hence the promotional tone, which I hope is gone now) I did synthesize the info from separate materials into single paragraphs and rewrote it for wikipedia, therefore this content should not be copyrighted. I also tried to make the article more clean by including the workshop list as a table. THank you for your help and please let me know what I can do to continue to improve this article.
