Talk:Network Railcard

Latest comment: 6 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified

Perhaps there could be some discussion here of the following facts:

Annual season tickets (called Gold Cards) within the former NSE area provide a discount equivalent to a Network Railcard, without the £10 weekday minimum fare.

Network Railcards can be bought by annual Gold Card holders for friends or relatives for £1. A Gold Card holder may buy one discounted Network Railcard per Gold Card purchased. Pubwebmaster 16:58, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Pubwebmaster; I am intending to expand this article when I get the chance. The points you mention are covered in my Concessionary fares on the British railway network article, under the "Gold Card and Gold Card Partner's Card" heading. However, I agree that some mention should be made here, ideally with a link back to that article as above. Hassocks5489 17:55, 14 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Update needed edit

Central Trains no longer exist, but the Birmingham-Stansted service remains. Is this still subject to the exclusion? 217.33.74.203 (talk) 11:50, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have updated this. The latest version of the map shows that the Stansted Airport–Ely section (now part of the CrossCountry franchise) is now included. Hassocks5489 (tickets please!) 21:51, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Penalty edit

The restrictions of Network Railcard is that all party members must be together with the card holder. This is not convenient sometimes when one person wants to do an errand shopping and will later meet back with the card holder. If unlucky, one can get penalty fine or even worst, charged for fare evasion, if caught.Andwan0 (talk) 14:19, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
