Guernsey Lily → Nerine sarniensis – This plant has several common names, including those used in its native country of South Africa. The Latin name, on the other hand, is unique and unambiguous. For this reason, Latin names are preferred by Wiki for the vast majority of plant species. The name "Guernsey lily" can be ambiguous as it has been applied to at least one other species Nerine bowdenii. This plant is not a true lily, nor is it native to Guernsey.Darorcilmir (talk) 06:02, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- Support As noted above, this "common" name is ambiguous – actually my experience is that the plant sold in the UK under this name is more usually N. bowdenii (see, e.g., [1]). Peter coxhead (talk) 08:46, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
