What is the source for this part: "small written messages on ribbons, tied to the altar or to trees"? I have not been able to find any reliable sources for this statement. Timusuke (talk) 01:14, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
- Curious about this myself. Sounds like an idea from more modern pagan practice. And I'm not sure writing on ribbons would have been as easy for the Romans as scribbling something with a ballpoint. Sewing messages on ribbons, maybe?
