Talk:Neighborhood planning

US practice edit

This article is about practice in the United States. Though there is a mention of the UK, it is a single sentence which is factually badly wrong, and says nothing about the major initiative launched in England by the Cameron government in the Localism Act 2011, which introduced neighbourhood forums in urban areas to mirror the planning roles of parish councils in rural areas. That sentence needs to be omitted and the article retitled "Neighborhood planning in the United States". Deipnosophista (talk) 12:02, 11 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Improvements, April 2021 edit

I am trying to update the article gradually, making it less polemical and adding more relevant citations. The sections on public involvement and planning process closely follow 'how to' guides rather than providing encyclopedic information.

I have tried to make it more generically about neighbourhood planning - a process that exists all over the world. Much of the citations refer to US and UK practice where the concept has held more sway. In light of Deipnosophista's comment I have made a separate section on English NP.
