There are conflicting sources for a place of birth, either Flakirk, Scotland or Ireland, until a definitive source can be found this should be left blank Fasach Nua (talk) 10:31, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Things were very lax back then, Willie Andrews was born in America, of American descent and turned out for Ireland, and people like John Reynolds jumped from Ireland to England, from one season to the next Fasach Nua (talk) 22:28, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think you might be going back a bit too far in history with Andrews and Reynolds. I seem to remember from somewhere that there was a "gentlemen's agreement" between England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland not to "poach" a player born in one of the other countries. I know for a fact nobody born outside the country played for Wales between the 1900's and the early seventies. Can't think of a Scot either. Having a quick look through a few books, the situation for Ireland seems to be largely the same (A couple of South Africans have cropped up). I think you are right, on that basis he probably was born in Ireland, however this method would come under Synthesis of published material serving to advance a position, and is not usable in wp.
