WP:BUZZ

I'm not very familiar with Wikipedia guidelines, but some of this seems to violate WP:BUZZ to me.

e.g. I would think "It will be the world's first deep-sea mining project" would be phrased more neutrally as "It may be ..."

The article also repeats the phrase "world's first" an awful lot

MERGER PROPOSAL

That looks reasonable to me. Your draft is high-quality and cited to decent sources. Make sure all sentences/passages are cited, though, I see a few still uncited including the final sentence.
