Move edit

The old talk page was never moved with the article.

Now it was.--71.185.193.98 04:47, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
I noticed that you moved the page Republican National Guard to Portuguese National Republican Guard by copy-pasting its content. While I don't have anything against the title change, I have something against the method that you used. Because it didn't moved the original page's history along with the content. I would like to ask you to fix this, one way could be by requesting the deletion of the article Portuguese National Republican Guard, and then by moving Republican National Guard to the new title using MediaWiki's moving feature.

Armed Forces edit

Also, I would like you to know that the GNR isn't a branch of the Portuguese Armed Forces.
Thank you for your help solving this.

According to their official website — GNR, A GNR, Historial:
That is, in peacetime the GNR depends on the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) for recruitment, administration and execution of their general mission, and also depends on the Ministry of National Defence for the uniformity of the military doctrine, armament and equipment. And, only, in wartime or in the case of a crisis situation the GNR will be under the command of the Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces. Has you can see this does not make them a branch of the Armed Forces.

Regarding the USCG, it's not the same thing. It seems that the nearest thing to have the same status as the GNR is the Spanish Guardia Civil.

Fair use rationale for Image:ImageGNR.jpeg edit

Image:ImageGNR.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Requested move edit

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: page moved per request. Apparently nobody objects. - GTBacchus(talk) 05:49, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Republican National Guard (Portugal)National Republican Guard (Portugal) – I would suggest that current title sounds rather unnatural (incorrect) in English because of the adjectival order, it should really be
National Republican Guard (Portugal). The page of the linguistically comparable Italian organisation already uses the page title "National Republican Guard (Italy)". Does anyone object to a move? Mesoso2 (talk) 20:03, 30 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
