Removed "explain importance" tag. The article is verifiable, and importance is not a grounds for inclusion. The article will be interesting to people with an interest in convicts. To those with no interest in convicts, I can see no way of changing the article to satisfy them. Hesperian 04:34, 25 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

I know this article is only a stub, but it makes some assumptions. Some time in the future I will be studying this topic in detail, and hopefully I will be able to contribute. I will be able to provide a comprehensive biography, and offer some of the alternate theories that exist in contradiction to those briefly mentioned here. For example, there is conjecture that Nathaniel Lucas was framed because he was a master carpenter, and would be useful in the colony. It is also not known for sure that he actually was addicted to alcohol, and his 'suicide' is suspicious by modern standards. There is no mention of his contribution to the fledgling colony, or the naming of Lucas Heights after him.58.106.129.187 05:59, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Luke LucasReply
