Nathan George "Snave" Evans is the accurate and detailed name of this page. I would appreciate it if the admins would not revert it back to the historically innacurate name of "Shanks". Message me on my talk page if you would like to debate this. -- (talk) 20:07, 26 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Colonel of ... what? edit

Evans is said here to have been made a Confederate colonel. Colonel of what regiment? Or was he a colonel in the "regular" Confederate Army? In Colonel Philip St. George Cocke's report of 1st Bull Run (OR I:51:I:27) Cocke refers to Evans as "Major." This must have been his previous rank (either in U.S. service or Confederate service), as Evans was, at Bull Run, a colonel in command of a small brigade (which seems to have been composed of troops taken from Cocke's own brigade). But, again, colonel of what? So something is missing here regarding Evans' military career.

Barrelito story needs to cite its source. edit

The last sentence of the second paragraph is the barrelita story. Either cite a source for it or add wiggle words so that we know that you can't prove it. There's a rumor that...
