References needed edit

This article was a long-term unreferenced BLP (tagged March 2009). I have concerns about the potentially controversial content and historical accuracy. There is no mention of the prison sentence which led to the 2005 resignation, for instance. Needs oversight, updating and references adding by someone with better knowledge of recent political history than I. I've added one reference, which takes it out of the "unreferenced" category but I feel it urgently needs more attention.
