Article title

Shouldnt it be in the file format category?

I dont know how much of a file format NZBs actually are. Aren't they just XML files named NZBs to promote the site that created them? --Triedandtested 22:46, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

NZB is not a protocol. Just a file format in plain text using xml-based tags. NZB contains the list of newsgroups where the release was posted, poster's name, subject and file list, and, for every file posted, a list of its segments and the size and message id of each segment.

Explanation severly lacking "These websites create NZB files out of what is needed to be downloaded. Using this concept, headers would not be downloaded hence the NZB method is quicker and more bandwidth-efficient." Controversy

The semi-recent controveries could be listed regarding NZB sites. For example the MPAA filing papers against various nzb sites such as nzbzone.com and them latter closing down as a result. You could link to the MPAA press release as a source. I might do it myself if noone else has a go. --Triedandtested 22:30, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Some technical details.

DTD located here, XML namespace here. The NZB files don't seem to be compressed, although that might be a useful feature if it does allow that. -Matt 01:23, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

We consider compression to be outside the context of the spec; it's normally going to be transmitted over HTTP, so HTTP compression is expected to be used there. -Fweeky (talk) 22:23, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
