Talk edit

I have overhauled the entire article, deleting unnecessary sections like the uniform. I have also deleted the school schedule section, but I don't know if that's wise. If everyone's fine with it, then that's okay, if not, I suggest putting it under the Curriculum section.

Part of the overhaul also includes reformatting the article, making the flow clearer, and shifting some sections into subsections (e.g. teachers), because they don't warrant an entire section. Again, if anyone has any objections, feel free to bring them up.

I've also tried to remove the advertising overtones that the article has by rephrasing some sentences. I still feel some parts of it sound like they were filched from the website though, so if anyone can neutralize the article a little, you're welcome to.

As for the school's non-existent section on history, does anyone feel that it's necessary to put it in? Such as the parliamentary debate about how Singaporean secondary schools weren't achieving good standards etc. etc. and the resultant conceiving of NUS High School. Even though the school's only 2.5 years old, but the circumstances surrounding the school's conception and creation is quite interesting, and I feel it warrants a section. What do you all think of this?

It's a little hard to talk about the conception and creation of the school with much authority unless someone hauls things from the speeches of the important people like Teo Chee Hean and the likes about their ideas of this school. Having said this, I think it is only proper we paraphrase what the school would say about its existence on its website rather than speculate what the school is all about.

I noticed someone updated that the current Principal is stepping down. But no one updated the name of the incoming one. I can help with that.

Fair use rationale for Image:NUS highsch logo.jpg edit

Image:NUS highsch logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:45, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

AXIS NUS High School Research Programme edit

Hi, I thank you for your time in doing and refining this article! :) But I was wondering, if you could also include the AXIS NUS High School Research Programme, and give alittle emphasis to it as well, because, afterall, its also rather unique to the school. Thanks!

The AXIS program is now called Da Vinci Program. I've edited it and added in some information too. Themechacat

edit

Why the hell is there the NUS logo in the infobox? It's not really relevant, since we're not talking about NUS, rather NUS High. I'll be removing the NUS logo. If anybody disagrees, bring it up here. CHL (aka yse) (talk) 14:37, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Pictures edit

I seriously think there are way too many pictures at the 'Campus Facilities and Features' section - it is really cluttered there. Also, some pictures are low quality or slanted. Squeezedlime (talk) 12:48, 18 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

For that matter, the gallery seems to be unnecessary. This random assortment of images has no proper attribution (it is unlikely that these photos were taken and uploaded by those with the authority). Also, "Chairman Hang"? CHL (aka yse) (talk) 12:56, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

What would "proper attribution" be? Who are "those with the authority"? Aybody can upload pictures if they are cleared for copyright. The uploader of these pictures claims to have taken them himself and has granted the copyright so there is no problem there. As to whether they add anything useful to the article, you are just as entitled as any other user to delete them, if you think they don't. And to rewrite the captions, if you think they are incorrect. Alarics (talk) 16:11, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
It seems incredibly unlikely that the user (User:Nushs) was the origin of the photos. Unless he/she can provide proof that he/she was the one who had taken these photos, I'll raise a speedy deletion request at Commons. There is no clear copyright status there. It says "OTRS" on the image pages, but has no ticket, and does not use either of the OTRS templates. Additionally, usage of OTRS is unnecessary for self-taken photos, which makes them even more dubious. CHL (aka yse) (talk) 11:28, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Accuracy with regards to shoe colour edit

Regarding shoe color, it is not stated anywhere within the rules that dull coloured shoes are required. In fact, there are tons of non-dull shoes in the school.42.60.86.24 (talk) 14:02, 3 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
