I'm just wondering about the title of this article. My copy of the album is called My Favourite Headache (note the u in "favourite"), and indeed, that is what the album is called in the article itself. So why the lack of a u in the article's title? Durga2112 15:26, 19 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
The original page was created using the American spelling of "favorite", even though the graphic used for the cover shows the Canadian/British spelling. Since Geddy Lee is Canadian, the proper spelling is "My Favourite Headache". I don't know what spelling was used for the album's U.S. release. I changed the title to "My Favourite Headache" with a redirect. I think I caught all references to My Favorite Headache so that they now point to My Favourite Headache. Both of the graphics used on the page actually use "Favorite", however. Does anyone actually have this album with "Favourite" used? Google images all appear to show "Favorite" and I find it difficult to believe that there would be two different spellings used for British vs. U.S. pressings. "Favourite" may be the usual British spelling, but as this page states, -or endings are not uncommon in Canada. I think this page should be moved back. KieferFL (talk) 06:39, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
The initial poster claims to have a copy of the album with the 'u', though mine is spelled "favorite". I checked 3 online retailers ending in .ca and .uk. One of the three (.ca) did spell it with a 'u'. So, my guess is that the non-'u' spelling is more common. 65.24.249.74 (talk) 15:03, 17 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have the original CD purchased the week it was released in Canada. The title is "My Favourite Headache" with a "u". What's more, the back cover has a link to a web site -- no longer available apparently -- with the URL www.myfavouriteheadache.com, again with the "u". Now, is the American spelling proper? There's a claim that it's more prevalent, which might not be surprising given that the U.S. is so much bigger than Canada and is potentially a bigger market for Geddy Lee's, and Rush's, music. However, they are quite clearly a Canadian band, Geddy Lee is a Canadian, the album was released in Canada, so why is the American spelling considered "correct"? Geddy Lee is Canadian, Rush is a Canadian band. Agoodall's copy uses the Canadian spelling, therefore favourite is the correct spelling per MOS:CA. I'll move it. Argolin (talk) 08:22, 15 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
