Adbul Aziz Ali?

The article currently states:

It has been suggested that al-Hawsawi may be the same person as Ali Abdul Aziz Ali, or may be an alias of the Pakistani terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, although this is unclear.

However, these BBC News stories [1] [2] refer to al-Hawsawi and Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali as separate individuals, and identifies al-Aziz Ali as "Amar al-Balochi". I take this to be an alternative transliteration of Ammar al-Baluchi. What is the source for identifying al-Hawsawi as Aziz Ali? Definitely needs further explanation, but al-Hawsawi used the alias Mustafa Ahmed, which according to the September 24 2001 Newsweek, was the name "somebody" had used to send Marwan and Atta their money -- that "somebody" was later fingered to be al-Baluchi -- but I'm guessing the confusion/theory arises from that fact. Perhaps multiple individuals used the alias "Mustafa Ahmed". But of course we shouldn't speculate in the article, unless we have a reliable source for that speculation (in which case it wouldn't be us speculating, it would be the source speculating and us reporting their speculation). —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 03:20, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

I agree it's probably just a common alias, but since there does seem to be "media confusion" about the four identities, and how many physical people exist, and who used which alias, it seems worth having a note somewhere in the article about it all. That does make sense. I'll leave it in the hands of the experts (which I'm not) — just be careful to avoid original research. Ideally, we should find a source which actually discusses the various aliases, rather than making transitive assumptions. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 06:05, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Allegedly?

I'm not familiar with all of the details of his case, so I don't know whether he has (legally) confessed, but it seems that he certainly has not yet been found guilty. So shouldn't wording such as "allegedly" or "accused" be added in several places to this article, including, for example, in the opening sentence that currently states without caveat: "...'is a member of the militant Islamic organization al-Qaeda and an organizer and financer of the September 11, 2001 attacks." Even if it is likely to be the case that he is guilty, and even if he has claimed the above (although as I said, I do not know this), it still seems premature to state as a fact until reasonably proven. (With respect to claims, it is often the case that people or groups try to take credit for the terrorist attacks of others for various reasons.) And if this already has been established, the support for these claims should be cited in this article somewhere. -- 99.231.194.255 (talk) 08:16, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
