FFI OST edit

I put an unreferenced template for that section because I can't seem to find information about it. I only searched 5 minutes though. Kariteh 20:14, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Final fantasy and final fantasy 2.JPG edit

Image:Final fantasy and final fantasy 2.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:18, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

GA Review edit

This review is transcluded from Talk:Discography of Final Fantasy I and II/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Another well presented discography article, some small points before passing:

  • Where is Sugoshiyoshi? There's no article, which is fair enough, but there must be one for the area it's in.
  • "a girl working for Square asked" Squaresoft employed children? Could you give the reader a hint about what Square is without them having to click the link?
  • Do you have sources for the tracklists? In earlier articles I remember that these were cited.

That's it, I can see no other issues with fair use rationales, neutrality or stability. Someoneanother 17:14, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Done, done, and done. Square was a cover for a sweatshop, until their games proved profitable enough. Thanks for reviewing! --PresN (talk) 20:59, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ha ha XD the tinkers. This is now a Good Article, thanks for your work. Someoneanother 21:47, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

An Call? edit

I did a little searching on Google, and I went through the track listings, but I couldn't find this track. It's mentioned in the concept and creation section that it was Uematsu's favourite FF track. Am I missing something here or is it nonexistent? Maybe it was called something else? The Prince (talk) 21:56, 23 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Anyone? The Prince (talk) 14:09, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Marked it out, because I can't seem to figure out what he meant. Maybe it was "On call", and was a mistranslation for something else, but that's way too much of an OR stretch if I can't find another source. --PresN (talk) 03:00, 3 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unreliable sources? edit

It seems like the references for the track listings come from unreliable sources; [1] seems more like a fansite than anything else. Does anyone have proof that it's reliable? If not, the CDs do have pages from RPGfan, so they can be replaced. However, RPGfan has only to English translations. I don't believe it's too huge of a problem if the Romanizations left out; the BC/LO section of Discography of Final Fantasy VII did that. Any comments? WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 12:43, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

BC/LO was released with english track names, btw. The cites can be moved to rpgfan without removing the romanizations- A translation between two Japanese languages would be cited to a dictionary, if anything. --PresN (talk) 14:56, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ah, that explains it. Thanks! Well, it should make it much easier if I just need to switch cites. Most of the FF discography pages link to that site, but it shouldn't take too long. That is, if you believe the site isn't a reliable source. WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 16:40, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I believe that it is perfectly accurate, but it doesn't meet any sort of criteria for a "reliable source", it's just some guy's fansite. I'm going to have to remove/replace it in any article I take to FAC. --PresN (talk) 20:16, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think that, too. I'll start searching around the other discography sections and replace the ones I find. A few don't even have the tracks references, so I should probably add those in as well. Thanks! WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 20:23, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
While on the subject, what about this source: [2]? It's a fansite/blog thing, but I'm not sure if it can be called reliable or not. Not only can translations get messed up, but we don't know if it was made up or purposely translated incorrectly, etc. It's not by an official newsgroup, so is it safe to say it should be removed? WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 20:40, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'd leave it, I'll cross-correlate it with other sites when I get a chance, but whether the site is an RS or not it's correct information. If you want to remove it, remove the link to the site but leave the cite to the liner notes themselves- the fact that most readers of this wikipedia can't read the original source isn't grounds to remove it. Think of it this way- you can cite books (which people have to go find to make sure the info is there) and you can cite foreign language books (which not only do they have to find, but probably can't read). If a translation for a foreign-language source is available, who does it hurt to include it? --PresN (talk) 16:39, 15 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reception and legacy section edit

Isn't better move the critical reception to the respective albums like Music of Final Fantasy XIII article? A section just with the legacy is better to the layout of the article. T.R.Elven (talk) 02:18, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

It would be better; I wrote this article a good while before I switched to integrating the reception in with the albums in video game music articles, and I never went back to these older ones to make them align. Feel free to rearrange the article if you want! I'm unlikely to get around to it anytime soon. Always good to have someone else interested in VG music articles! --PresN 04:00, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
