Aging already edit

The MSL was originally scheduled for launch in 2009. Perhaps the plutonium dioxide for the 8 GPHS that will be used in each MMRTG has already been made and output is already reducing. Anyone know when the GPHS (to be used) were made ? Rod57 (talk) 14:45, 20 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ownership edit

While the MMRTGs were initially supplied by Boeing when the program started, they are now supplied by Pratt & Whitney (owned by United Technologies Corporation) due to the sale of the Canoga Park, Ca facility in 2005.

How many watts per MMRTG? edit

Yes, there are proposals, not plans. In my opinion, NASA will eventually assign and use the 2 surplus MMRTGs because their radioactivity is continuously decaying and is being wasted. BatteryIncluded (talk) 18:27, 15 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Could try to clarify : Why develop MMRTG rather than use previous design edit
