Additional earlier stations? edit

Special:Diff/156357187 mentioned two format additional stations in Mullingar: while this unsourced content wsa removed was it actually true and can it be source? (I might have the answer near me but temporily mislaid) but this is a reminder. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 08:23, 30 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Before I distract myself Mullingar is of course mentioned multiple times in (Shepherd, 2008) that I have now located. In particular p.103 describes the stations in prose and confirms Newbrook 51m 40ch from the Broadstone ... I haven't deliver later. In terms of uncited RPSI stuff currently on the article page e.g. [1] & [2] (primary), RPSI base at geo.ie RPSI base (photo), [3] & [4] give some background. The turnable is at {Circa}} 53°31′16″N 7°21′03″W / 53.5210°N 7.3509°W / 53.5210; -7.3509; here in 1992 at 1m 30s. Djm-leighpark (talk) 11:09, 30 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

RPSI base and tracks edit

Its unclear to me if tracks still reach the (former?/current?) RPSI base and associated turntable (which is important for the running of the tender engines and possibly single 121's); albeit the latter would probably be paired with another GM to avoid no-cab first issues. The map_frame (just added) shows no tracks, the google maps shows what probably look like overgrown tracks. (NB: RPSI member due to COI don't really wish to delve to heavily here wrt RPSI unless to correct facts.) Thankyou. 03:41, 31 December 2021 (UTC)

Opening date of this station edit

This particular station was opened in 1857, there was one near the dogs that was from 1848. Can someone with resources please resolve.
