Well, in the remote event that you are in fact Mrs Gearhart the English teacher, might I suggest that you resign? You are not doing your pupils any favours, what with poor spelling, obscene abuse on my user page, inability to read simple instructions etc. Your recent edits were deleted because (a) they were absolutely beyond copyediting for sense; and (b) they were not "encyclopedic". Sorry, but that it how it is. I suggest that you read some of the info that is on your own personal talk page and, better still, register a username here so that your own talk page stays in the same place (IP addresses sometimes move). Best. - Sitush (talk) 14:37, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sitush, you are correct, there is no Mrs. Gearhart. This person is a fraud. There is an English teacher by the name of "GERHART," which obviously has a different spelling.B0cean (talk) 00:32, 3 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

What should I do?

Do not delete it. It is not in violation of copyright as the picture is not copyrighted. It was created by the school's band as stickers. The coon cap pioneer was created by Rondald Loyd (yes, that's the correct spelling) who taught 3D art there for over 30 years. Don't know why the picture is considered copyrighted.B0cean (talk) 00:45, 3 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

I say delete the whole article edit

I am a former teacher of MWHS. I just left the school last year. I read the archived discussion on whether to delete this entry or not. I also read the original edit to the page. Holy cow, what a mess. Obviously done by a near-illiterate student at the school. Name spellings were butchered, horrible grammar, lack of coherence and organization of thought--a very bad representation of the school. (Or perhaps a good representation? ;) ) The article as it stands accomplishes what? Nothing in my opinion. Who cares about MWHS except for MWHS, especially with this sparse amount of information? You can get more information about them at their own or the school district's website. I say delete the whole page.

BTW, the picture is not copyrighted. It was created by the school's band as stickers. The coon cap pioneer was created by Rondald Loyd (yes, that's the correct spelling) who taught 3D art there for over 30 years. Don't know why you think the picture is copyrighted. But it makes no difference. Just delete the whole article.

History edit

Where does the date of "1937" come from?

I've always thought that Visalia Union High School was the only public high school Visalia had during this period, until 1952-53. And VUHS was located on the present campus of Redwood High school (not Mt Whitney's campus) The Visalia Unified School District website seems to agree with what I thought was true: http://www.vusd.org/Redwood.cfm?subpage=15693 — Preceding unsigned comment added by C sloth (talkcontribs) 01:22, 4 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

I change the history section to something I hope is more accurate. The Visalia Unified School District website indicates that when MWHS opened, the VUHS campus was used as a junior high for two years starting in 1952. I would assume this means MWHS opened by the Fall of 1952 (as opposed to 1953). I still have no idea where someone got "1937" as the date Mt. Whitney was established.C sloth (talk) 09:02, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Year of name change edit

According to this edit, the name change for the school was later than 1953. I removed the edit from the article because it was unsourced and discursive in nature. However, the 1953 comment that is in the article is also unsourced and I have no idea what the "ASB" referred to therein may be. Please can we resolve this? If we cannot then perhaps we need at least to take the year of change out of the existing statement. - Sitush (talk) 04:31, 17 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Clubs edit

I'm curious about clubs being removed. If they don't belong, then that's fine. But I snagged the idea for clubs listing from school pages rated as "Good". (1)(2)(3). Feedback would be appreciated so I can do this correctly. Thanks! Erinhayden (talk) 23:49, 5 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
