Talk:Mr. Irish Bastard

I'm the author of this article. I understand why s.o. might challenge it, as this band is not yet that broadly known in English speaking countries. I do, however, want to point out that the band itself met the criteria demanded for bands on the German version of wikipedia. Furthermore, this band is playing in many different countries other than Germany (e.g. China, Asia, ...) and has already been invited to England (and is at least planning on going back there). I therefore think, that users from various countries might be interested in this band when they play their respective countries. As it is impossible to create articles in so many different languages, I think it is important to have an English article which can be read all over the world. Furthermore I understand talks have been iniciated with an American record label. Also one of their songs has been used in an American movie.

I don't think, the band not being popular in all countries yet justifies deeming articles about them irrelevant.

Please see WP:BAND. Even according to the above, they have not signed with a label. Woogee (talk) 23:37, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
well, not in America, but in Europe and Asia...
this is what WP:BAND says and which apllies to MrIB:
"A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, DJ, musical theatre group, etc.) may be notable if it meets at least one of the following criteria:
(...)
4. Has received non-trivial coverage in a reliable source of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country. (--> toured with internationally renown bands as Levellers, The Mahones. Coverage on www.musikinstinkt.de)
(...)
7. Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city (--> see acknowledgments as best band in Germany, places 1,2 respectively 3 in 2007 through 2009; very well known/ number one in their hometown)
(...)
10. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable (--> participated in movie "Townies")
12. Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network. (--> live concert on "Kanal 21" in Germany)"
all these things are mentioned in the article and I tried to provide the proof needed. I am, however, willing to provide further proof, just tell me what exactly you want to no more precisely.
