Unexplained breaches of guidelines

An editor has reverted my fixes to the range hyphens (-> dashes, as required by MOS), and from upper- to lower-case "pm" (as required by MOSNUM). I ask him/her to justify those changes here. Tony (talk) 13:43, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

MOS doesn't require anything, as it is a guideline and not policy, and your willingness to edit war and slap a template on an editor with over 100,000 edits is absolutely ludicrous behavior. I suggest you re-evaluate what, precisely, your role here is, as this kind of MOS -ultra-inflexibility is harmful, not helpful. Beyond My Ken (talk) 17:20, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Oh, Tony1, pretty please may I return "May 1" to what I originally wrote, "the first of May"? It is ever so much more interesting writing. I won't touch your precious hyphens and "pm"s and such. Pretty pretty please? I know now that even though I conceived, researched and wrote the article, that you are truly the boss of it, and that mighty MOS is the Lord of All Things Wiki, and that you are just doing your master's bidding, so I understand the way of things now - but if I could just please have this one little thing, then everything would be alright between us.
