Talk:Mount Arapiles

Latest comment: 6 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified (February 2018)

Arapiles source name is from Spain and not from Australia. Australia's name comes from the Spanish name. edit

Arapiles name is from an Spanish hill and village at Salamanca Province. I see that there is another mountain called Arapiles in Australia. The Australia's name of Arapiles came from a British mility that fought against the Napoleon's troop at the Battle of Arapiles. That means that Spain holds the honour of being the source of the name.

As a result I propose to to reserve the term "Arapiles" to the Spanish village. I propose, observing other terms collision in Wikipedia, to create a disambiguation page so both names (The Spanish name and the Australian Name) appear in the list.

If there is a manager of this page. Do you agree to modify it?. I don't have much experience with Wikipedia but I think I needed to leave this notification here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Keenonmaps (talkcontribs) 01:12, 24 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Integrate the conservational history (ie. When it became a state park etc.)
  • forming of the Advisory Committee, consisting mainly of locals, some of which who have extensive experience climbing at Arapiles.
