I found a citation for the sentence "Recently, the Norwegian government has declared The Grudge as a cultural artifact, requiring the album to be in libraries across the country" here: http://www.mic.no/nmi.nsf/printstory/art2005040715403642572213, but unfortunately it is in Norwegian. Bottom line of the source is that the government does not demand that libraries buy these publications, but wants to contribute to "spread the knowledge and distribution of Norwegian quality sound productions" (quote from here: http://www.ballade.no/mic.nsf/home/bransjeregister?opendocument&url=http://www.ballade.no/symfoni/kontakt.nsf/pub/bed2000081513221048786449]here). I don't think the sentence should stay as it is at the moment, but is unsure on how to change it... EliF 17:22, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

This article perhaps needs to distinguish between the artist and the band. Perhaps a seperate article for Haavard Elefsen?

Thats what I would like to know.. I'd agree with Industrial Rock, but not Symphonic Metal.. Mortiis doesn't do Metal - no matter how many metal bands he has been on tour with. The Smell of Rain has been reviewed enough times as EBM, and even sometimes being referrenced as Pop. In an interview, Mortiis even said that The Smell of Rain was a bit pop. They're not easy to classify though. From the tracks I've heard I'd say industrial, but the synth element can't be overlooked. I think 'pop' is relative to their other works, rather than relative to Sugababes or Franz Ferdinand. I'm definitely not hearing even a trace of metal; that association surely comes more from the image.--90.193.211.151 (talk) 10:45, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Image/Mask/Blix

Need a reference for the Blix part in the image section. I'm looking for the interview - though if anyone else has a section use that instead. (If I remember correctly, the interview mentions that his first mask was made by a professional studio and when asked for a reference, Mortiis gave them a picture of Blix). Split article

Just because a musician happens to have the same stage name as the group he has formed doesn't justify commingling of the group and the individual as this article does. I see that this has been addressed here before, and I think this change now needs to come about. __meco 01:49, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Pronounciation

I was just wondering how the name is actually pronounced? I don't read IPA, but is it the same as 'Mortis', the Latin, or does the double 'i' make it 'Mort-ice'? J Milburn 13:03, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm unfamiliar with the actual case, but being a Norwegian myself I'd expect the pronunciation of the double 'i' not to be any different than single 'i' here. The sound would then be an 'i' as in "give". And the first syllable would be shorter than in "short". More like "shot". __meco 16:16, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Mortiis uses the pronunciation of 'Mortis' - like it says in the first paragraph of the article. Although he has also said that it can be pronounced as "Mort-ice'.Monolith_TBM 17:49, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Merger proposal

I don't know if could be possible to include the article Vond into this article, or maybe in the biography of Haavard Elefsen--Jairoamelo (talk) 05:31, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Yes. Cintecele Diavolui, Fata Morgana (band), & Vond should all be merged into Mortiis. Likewise Dark Dungeon Music. And probably Håvard Ellefsen also. 92.0.63.81 (talk) 22:10, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
