Confidentiality

Reporting income and age seems a bit unfair on Elsie Eiler. Many people wouldn't take kindly to strangers knowing details like that. I know that the Irish census amalgamates a statistical area with a neighbouring one if its population is so small that there is a danger of breaching the requirement for census details to be kept confidential. Checking the four linked population-of-one U.S. places, there are no age/income details given on any. Honestly?

"The median age in the village was 76.5 years. 0.0% of residents were under the age of 18; 0.0% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 0.0% were from 25 to 44; 0.0% were from 45 to 64; and 100% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 0.0% male and 100.0% female."

Please do not remove the demographic section!!!

Many people visit this page just to see the demographics (it's had 5702 views in the past 30 days).

I've corrected some of the issues concerning proper tense in the demographic section (eg. "there were 1 people"). However, I'm not sure how the population density was "4.8 inhabitants per square mile (1.9 /km2)" was arrived at. I don't want to correct or delete it, and would appreciate some assistance from someone more expert with demographics.

The population density is probably 4.8 because the town has one resident and encompasses just over a fifth of a mile. I think this illustrates the silliness of your decision to restore the demographic information of a town with one person: it's so meaningless as to be misleading. If the lone resident is notable enough to deserve a Wikipedia article discussing her age, family status, and ethnicity, maybe that information would be best at an article specifically for her. HOW big is the Library

Demographic section

A user added incorrect demographic data which needed to be undone. I've added the demographic section in by hand using 2010 census data. Regarding the population density (the number of people per unit of area), this section had listed a figure of 4.8/sq mi (1.9/km2). A Talk user explained that "the population density is probably 4.8 because the town has one resident and encompasses just over a fifth of a mile", but the figure is misleading. Monowi Not Only Incorporated Town with 1 Population

There is another town that has a population of 1 in the USA: Bonanza, Colorado. The state is considering designating it an abandoned place, but for now it is still incorporated. (My wife and I were married there several years ago).

Monowi vs. Greenhorn, Oregon

“Unidentified Native American language”

“Monowi” is a phonetic spelling of flower in the unwritten Ponca language. I recently visited Monowi and talked to Elsie and others living in the town to learn this. But because this is original research, there is nothing I can edit, correct? Ephun (talk) 17:56, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

Larry The Cable Guy ...

On an episode of "Only In America With Larry The Cable Guy", Monowi was one of the places visited. After an interview with Elsie Eiler, Larry decided to hold a one day fund raiser in Monowi to help pay for road repairs. ( Not sure if this is worthy of inclusion, under "In Popular Culture".
