x and y are vectors here. y >> x means every component of y is strictly larger than the corresponding component of x (you have more of each good). y > x means every component of y is at least as large as the corresponding component of x, and at least one component of y is strictly larger than the corresponding component of x. y ≥ x means every component of y is at least as large as the corresponding component of x.
