Vandalism edit

Vetadria has been vandalizing articles such as this one by removing any mention of Armenians. Please help keep an eye on things so that this sort of edit is not repeated. Thank you. --RaffiKojian (talk) 07:08, 17 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

the fake, nationalistic and misleading content will never be tolerated. Vetadria (talk) 12:13, 14 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Source edit

The following text has been removed at least twice without real explanation, though the second time there was a reference to biased source. Unless someone can illustrate the bias, then it seems the removal itself may be due to bias. So please help us out to see what the problem is, or else this belongs back in the article. Thank you, --RaffiKojian (talk) 18:22, 1 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

In the past, part of the monastery's Iberian monks, were Chalcedonian Armenians.[1]
Greetings RaffiKojian! The source is WP:UNDUE and WP:PARTISAN and is WP:IRI as it is primarily about the typicon of the famous Byzantine General Pacurianos. We have to have WP:NPOV source adressing the Calcedonian Armenian presense at Iviron. Regards, An emperor X Ave imperātor 15:51, 2 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello. Sorry, but this is about the shortest sentence you can imagine, it is hardly undue weight. And I don't think you can just offhand dismiss anything written by an Armenian about Armenians. It's unfortunately not likely anyone else would cover this topic. But as a compromise, I would propose changing the sentence to start with something like "According to one scholar", or "According to Armenian historian so and so" or "According to V.A. Arutiunova-Fidanian," and let the reader conclude whatever they want, rather than leave this out. What do you say? --RaffiKojian (talk) 17:35, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello RaffiKojian, its not about the length of the sentence but we simply have to have WP:V WP:RS that is not undue/partisan. Can you provide full quote from that source that it is adressing of the Armenian presence of Iviron and is not IRI? Regards, An emperor X Ave imperātor 18:56, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I guess that depends on what IRI means. I could try and hunt down the book in any case. I have to add, I don't see anything remotely remarkable about Chalcedonian Armenian monks spending time at a Chalcedonian monastery that's Georgian. Not sure what all the concern about the author being Armenian is about, frankly. RaffiKojian (talk) 01:55, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
