Request to add references edit
I'm attempting to add more references to help with the warning at the top of the page, however it appears I can't edit the reflist being used, and that I must ask for help here. Misquoted on very important topic edit
Wikipedia guidelines state that it is frowned upon to edit one's own page and that posting here in the "talk" page is the best way to encourage change. On Jan 14, 2020 DragonflySixtyseven changed a quote from Remix Magazine by shortening it to 4 words, and removing them from the actual context of the quote.
Original: "Controllerism borrows its name from turntablism. These terms are essentially the same idea, but they revolve around different instruments. DJs who emphasize performance and approach their tools as musical instrument needed a way to differentiate themselves from DJs who just play records. In the same way, performers who use computer technologies as musical instruments needed a way to differentiate themselves from people who ‘check their email’. Controllerism is the art of manipulating sound and creating music live, using computer controllers and software. Simple as that."
Mis-quote: "controllerism is 'essentially the same idea' as turntablism”.
The original quote is about separating the ideologies of instrumental practices from the instruments themselves. Dumbing this down to insinuate I simply said they are the same is inaccurate. Can someone please replace this with the original quote, a similar piece of information, or just delete it?
