Feedback from New Page Review process edit

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: Do you intend to work much more on this article? I ask so that, if you are, I'll keep out the way to avoid edit conflicts, as I plan to do some expansion myself if you aren't going to..

Hi Mako001. No, not in the near future, so go for it. I just wanted to get the basic article set up to help with links from other articles, etc. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 13:34, 23 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Laterthanyouthink: Cheers, thanks. Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 13:59, 23 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Laterthanyouthink: Do you mind taking a look at it now and let me know whether there's anything you think could be improved? I'm looking for a second opinion. Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 11:29, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sure, Mako001, but I'm too tired now so will try to find time to read properly tomorrow. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 11:36, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Laterthanyouthink: No worries, no rush. Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 11:47, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, sorry Mako001, I didn't get there today because I was trying to finish off a few other things I'd started, but haven't forgotten and will have a look on the weekend sometime. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 10:56, 27 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I haven't gone into it deeply but as you can see tidied a few sources and added detail from some of them to represent the sources in a bit more detail. Feel free to tweak further! Laterthanyouthink (talk) 07:47, 28 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hey, Mako001, having just had a read through the whole article linked to below with your note about Mick Rhatigan's involvement in other killings, I don't think it would be going off-topic to mention it here. I would first add the Ivanhoe incident in both Ivanhoe Station (perhaps the detail here) and then link to it from the List article. (Some reference is made to the period 1890-1926 as "The Killing Times", but individual incidents could be listed under this, perhaps with a double asterisk indent). There may be other sources, but it's listed in the Newcastle University source, with a "***" corroboration rating ("High quality corroborating evidence drawn from disparate sources"). It's a pity that site doesn't seem to be searchable on name, but the ABC article says Rhatigan was involved in numerous summary executions as well (which I assume refers to individuals?). It was fairly common practice. I went looking at all the other massacres listed from the East Kimberley, and found that Rhatigan was mentioned in at least three others[1][2][3]. Many other names show up multiple times too such as "Brophy" and "Wheatley" (one of the ones involved in the Ivanhoe massacre). Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 10:04, 29 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

To do list: edit

Extended content

So that I don't forget what I'm trying to do here.

  • Add content to reflect the substantial controversy surrounding the motive and perpetrator/s. (Done)
  • Edit to reflect which facts are agreed upon by both sides of the debate, and which are not. (Done)
  • Add more independent sources, some are actually opinion pieces and op-eds (SMH seem to be quite poor at clearly labelling their opinion pieces, at least on the mobile site). (Done)
  • Add map, showing approximate location. (Done, see infobox)
  • Add more details to the Aftermath section, specifically surrounding the trial of the perpetrators, and the circumstances of Wynne's death/murder/shooting/killing. (Done)
  • Add extra sections to handle all the additional content appropriately. (Done)
  • Include the fact that Rhatigan had been involved in other massacres, including one of 20 people, during his time as a police constable.[4] (Not done, I can't think of any way of presenting it naturally in the article, without straying off topic. If it was a much larger article, it would be easier, but it isn't)

I may add more to this as I go.
