To attain B-class rating, the article currently needs Supporting Materials. As originator of this page, I am not familiar with the setting-up of these items, and am hoping that another editor could help me insert them.
It seems to me that an infobox is not appropriate for the topic. But the following items might strengthen the impact:
1. Outline map showing state loyalties, colour-coded
2. Detailed map, locating the battles
3. Panel showing 4 portraits: The Commanders
(i) Scott (caption: Outgoing general-in-chief Winfield Scott, who declared the liberation of the river to be a strategic priority.)
(ii) Farragut (caption: Captain David Farragut, who captured New Orleans in April 1862, enabling the Union to set up a military government in the city.)
(iii) Grant (caption: General U.S. Grant, who planned and led the attack on the inaccessible high-lying river port of Vicksburg.)
(iv) Pemberton (caption: General John C. Pemberton, Commander of the Vicksburg garrison, who surrendered to Grant.)
