Mirsky's first name edit

I'd love to see a good source on Mirsky's first name. The article had "Philip" with no source given. Other web sources (but weak ones) suggest Mark or Steve-- the latter may be a confusion with Steve Mirsky, who writes a humorous science column for Scientific American, but whose background is at CUNY and Cornell, not Harvard. I've found references to a David Mirsky at the Lampoon, but no definite proof that it's the same guy. The blog entry I referenced does point to the Lampoon but doesn't give a first name; other web pages confirm the Lampoon connection. Zompist 23:02, 22 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ah, here's another entry from McDonalds's blog that gives Mirsky's name as David. (McDonald was also at the Lampoon.) http://www.furia.com/page.cgi?type=twas&id=twas0322

Yet more biotrivia: David Mirsky is said in this article to have graduated in 1990. http://www.thecrimson.com/printerfriendly.aspx?ref=271639 Zompist 05:35, 23 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I actually got mail from him once, but God knows how I could ever find it. I coulda sworn his name was Steve but I have nothing except my bad memory to back it up. --Spinn 06:06, 23 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Archive available? edit

I found a mention of the original URL, but I can't find it archived in the Wayback Machine. DMacks (talk) 06:06, 2 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
