Removal of Excess Pictures edit

I have removed 3 of the 4 pictures on the page, as I believe they are excessive and one is sufficient to illustrate what the breed looks like. I have also shortened the description of the remaining picture as I believe it contains unnecessary information, such as the name given to the rabbit by the owner. The picture on the mini lop page appears to be a Holland lop (miniature lop in Europe). Even if it is a mini lop, it does not have classic standard carriage of a mini lop and should be switched to a more standard photo. Perhaps the two pages should each have the same two photos highlighting the differences between the two breeds. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.182.228.181 (talk) 07:15, 8 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate your interest in getting an accurate photo to depict this breed. I share that interest and want also for the List of rabbit breeds table to be accurate with its images. Could you direct us to an authoritative source for photos (esp. comparison photos) that could be imported to Wikipedia? Or could anyone else, perhaps, help with this? Thanks. https://www.arba.net/breeds.htm shows a poster with small pictures of breeds. The Holland lop picture on the poster is a classic type for the breed. Note the shortened face and hind quarters which are not as strong as the front. The mini lop photo on the poster is not as good but does show the well rounded body and head typical of mini lop. The photo of the black chinchilla at http://www.rebeccasrabbitry.com/minilopcolorguide.html is a great photo of a mini lop.

Upon looking at the photos from the List of rabbit breeds, it does appear that the photos were switched for the two breeds. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gregorkhan (talkcontribs) 07:52, 15 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Miniature Lop article SHOULD NOT be merged with Mini Lop article edit

Miniature Lop article SHOULD NOT be merged with Mini Lop article, as there are totally different breeds. Please be MORE PROFESSIONAL about it by doing some research before making any modifications. Please refer to British Rabbit Council and The National Miniature Lop Rabbit Club Websites for a clear breed standard description. MiniatureLop (talk) 23:26, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Miniature Lop (Max 1.6 kg) is a recognized breed in the UK and it is a totally different breed from the US mini lop (Max 3kg). Unfortunately we have our own rabbit registration organisation in the UK, which is independent from the American Rabbit Breeders Association in the US, and even more unfortunately there is only one English version of Wikipedia. If you do a search on Google UK, you will realize how many people are confused between a US mini lop and a UK miniature lop( or mini lop, as that is what we called them in the UK). Therefore it is extremely important, for both topics(Mini lop and Miniature Lop) to be co-exist on Wikipedia. MiniatureLop (talk) 02:01, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
