What I find singularly outrageous in the attitude of the western liberal is the heavy-handedness with which he decides for himself what does or does not constitute 'offensive' to minority sensibilities. It simply assumes that the so-called minorities suffer from a chronic inability to laugh at their own eccentricities and foibles. They would have some chance to laugh at their perceived foibles if there was at least a modicum of truth to any of them. For example, the “head wobbling” gesture done by the Sikh guy is completely wrong - He is supposed to be from Punjab in northern Indian - the head wobbling gesture is something seen in the south of India. The tendency to confuse R and L sounds is something that happens when Japanese people learn to speak English as the nearest equivalent in Japanese is sort of halfway between the two sounds (there is no pure R or L sound in Japanese). But Chinese people do not show this tendency at all. What’s also stupid about the show is that the vast majority of the students have no problem understanding or speaking English - take the German woman, she basically has an accent but is otherwise fluent. Same with the Chinese woman, the Italian guy, the Greek guy. The only ones who can’t actually understand seem to be the Spanish guy and to a lesser extent the Indian woman. Hindi/Urdu

OK, I realise that cultural accuracy was never this show's strong point, but in Episode 1 Jamila writes her name on the blackboard in Urdu and Mr Brown says he doesn't understand Urdu. I have therefore taken the liberty of changing the description of Jamila's native language from Hindi to Urdu. Muzilon (talk) 00:49, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Running Gags

I am not a regular wikipedia contributor, hence I request someone who is, to add and contribute to a "running gags" section. One I found in the few episodes I watched is:

Sometimes, the English pronounciation of characters who otherwise speak English well, get affected temporarily by listening to the characters who have certain styles. They immediately correct themselves and switch to the correct pronounciation. For example, After listening to Taro for a while, Mr. Brown often appends "o" to the words that dont end with an "o", after which he immedietely corrects himself.
