http://www.milthinton.com/home.html Hinton was a tremendous musician, but that was second to his generosity to young musicians. His life spanned a fantastic period of American music, and his photographs captured this wondefully. The above link you can find a wonderful film that encompasses this blessed life. Amount of wood edit

I have removed the following sentence: "The dimensions of the bass being much larger than that of a cello or violin, one could make many fine cellos or violins from the amount of wood required to make a single double bass." As written, I'm unsure of its relevance (one could also make thousands of fine pencils for pencil-less children). Because the bass was in pieces, perhaps it was in danger of being recycled into smaller instruments, but this is pure speculation on my part, so I removed the sentence rather than making an attempt at clarification. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 16:26, 14 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Milt Hinton discography edit

Support split - Discography section takes up close to one half of the page, and should be split to a new article entitled Milt Hinton discography. --Jax 0677 (talk) 18:19, 14 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
