Cleaned-up but still needs attention

I've removed some chunks of text from this article (mostly the subjective and overly-detailed descriptions and opinions), mostly for the reasons stated in the edit summary (all linked but here they are again: personal opinions and original research and WP:Verifiability). The article still needs to be correctly formatted and also the links and quotes that remain need to be investigated and/or reorganised. Additional (cited) biographical information would also be useful as what there is rather sparse. Formatting and biographies are not my strong points ehre but if I get time, I'll have a go, otherwise at least for now its been cleaned-up a bit. Please do not restore any of the deleted text without ensuring that it now meets Wikipedia's necessary criteria - see Wikipedia:Five pillars and also Wikipedia: Manual of style.
