On the nature of being a new port when Apple released the MacBook Air edit

Turns out that ASUS originally introduced this port (Google ASUS Lamboughini), but their products aren't marketed in North America, partly because ASUS builds laptops for Apple! Please someone do the research on this and properly update the article, because it may be that Apple's intro of this port on the MBA is not a "world premiere", but just the first laptop in the West to have one. Two things: (1) How can it be "incompatible with ... DVI-A connectors as it does not have the necessary ports for the analog pins" when Apple sells a Micro-DVI to VGA Adapter (part number MB203G/A)? (2) The Asus Lamborghini VX2 does have a small port to which a DVI adapter can be connected, but it looks different from Apple's to me. The Asus Lamborghini VX2 also had a standard DE-15 VGA port, so I'm willing to believe that the its DVI-compatible port lacks analog signals (unlike Apple's).

The page needs to be clarified: to make the statement "The Micro-DVI adapter is a DVI-D(dual link) compatible port" correct, it should read "The Micro-DVI to DVI adapter is a DVI-D(dual link) compatible port" Proof of this is above and that in the APPLE Spec noted in the reference section.Goearth (talk) 17:15, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is this even an official standard or is it just an Asus/Apple specific connector, it's not like Apple to use proprietary connectors after all is it! Prehaps the title should read Apple Micro-DVI 80.169.145.121 (talk) 16:30, 25 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
