Possible confusion of two Michael Blochs edit

A bizarre discussion is linked above. I notice that the proposer of the deletion, Uhooep, has just been blocked indefinitely, while the only supporter was SwisterTwister, who made a remarkable claim that Bloch (already a Queen's Counsel) was only a "local lawyer", but SwisterTwister later turned out to be a sock puppet and has also been blocked indefinitely. What a strange place Wikipedia is! Moonraker (talk) 05:39, 25 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Moonraker, I have now been unblocked and don't want to repeat the same mistakes of the past! Having looked at this article I have noticed that there are two Michael Bloch's who graduated from Cambridge in 1974 and took MAs in 1978. Michael Anthony Bloch graduated from St John's College, Cambridge while Michael Gordon Bloch graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge (source). I believe Michael Anthony Bloch is the historian and writer, while Michael Gordon Bloch is a QC. I am not convinced that Michael Bloch QC passes notability guidelines, but the author and historian may well do. Kind regards. Uhooep (talk) 19:23, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Uhooep, that's good work. Something of a turn up to have two men of the same unusual name graduating from Cambridge in the same year, but you have made your case. However, QCs almost invariably meet the test of WP:N because they get so much coverage in reliable sources. See now Michael Bloch (barrister). Moonraker (talk) 13:10, 20 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
There is clearly a mix up here of two people, one a write, the other a barrister. If you go to the barrister's wiki page it mentions nothing about his little sideline of writing a dozen books. I looked in the front of one of his books in Waterstones, and it mentions all the books he's written but nothing about him being a barrister, something which would have enhanced his credibility. So why does this page suggest that the author was also a barrister, which he clearly isn't.
Unless somebody objects I am going to delete the half line which I think is wrong. 82.31.101.249 (talk) 08:35, 23 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
This Michael Bloch, the author, is a barrister who read law at St John's, as can be seen from his publisher's page already used in the article as a reference. DuncanHill (talk) 08:41, 23 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I take that back, I think he was a barrister. Just a weird coincidence that there are the two of them. I not touch the page 82.31.101.249 (talk) 08:42, 23 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
