composition edit

2 chainz talkin bout lv backpacks??? backpack rhymin is sumthin lik underground hip hop. remember kanye west's line in college dropout "first nigga did a benz n a backpack". cosigned by Louis Vuitton obviously iz a reference to kanye (The Louis Vuitton Don). kanye also says yup after the line

Artists/featured edit

shouldn't it be kanye, big sean n pusha feat. 2 chainz instead of kanye feat. big sean, pusha, 2 chainz coz they're all on good music

Requested move edit

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Move to Mercy (GOOD Music song). There's clear consensus the current title isn't preferable, and this option is the best supported of the two suggestions. Cúchullain t/c 13:43, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Mercy (Kanye West song)Mercy (GOOD Music song) – It was not just Kanye West who sang this song. 68.44.51.49 (talk) 02:14, 3 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Weak support The current title is ok if Kanye is the main performer, but as it's a track on Cruel Summer (GOOD Music album), this should work. I would suggest Cold (Kanye West song) is also moved if this article is. --BDD (talk) 18:17, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. Popularity is irrelevant in this case. Facts are facts. They can't be changed because of popularity, even if the most common artist known is Kanye. He didn't write this by himself. Srsrox (talk) 01:03, 25 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • I prematurely moved this by mistake, as I was unaware of this discussion. In any case, I do support a move, though I'd prefer a move to the title "Mercy (Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz song)". I'd understand an argument that the title is rather long, but the entirety of GOOD Music didn't perform the song, just four artists. The single cover even displays their individual names without mentioning the name of the label. Holiday56 (talk)
  • Comment I am neither supporting or opposing at this point, as there appears to be a case for both names: although both Billboard and the Cruel Summer liner notes list all the artists as leads, various digital outlets list Kanye West as the sole lead artist, which is why the article had its previous title and not because of "popularity", as is being claimed. (The same, while we're at it, goes for "Cold".) As the article's title represents it in its form as a song (as is the purpose of any song article), perhaps the article should keep its new title but the infobox, and all the discographies of the artists, should have Kanye West listed as the sole lead artist as both of these represent the song in its single form (if you see what I mean), with perhaps a note in the article explaining this inconsistency. I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 13:55, 26 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose, in favor of current name Mercy (Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz song).  — Statυs (talk, contribs) 08:31, 27 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment. The page was moved to Mercy (Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz song) unilaterally while this discussion was still open; I've moved it back to its former name until the discussion closes.Cúchullain t/c 16:45, 28 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose Although all of them are listed as main artists, it's obvious that Kanye is the leading artist in both the song and the idea. And, also, a long name listing all the artists is unproductive. — ΛΧΣ21 16:51, 28 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support It's simply not a Kanye West song. Calling this a Kanye West song would be like calling Cruel Summer a Kanye West album, honestly.--Giants27(T|C) 17:17, 28 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • For the record, I wasn't really happy with the name to which this article was moved. It was too unwieldy to be very useful for readers. If the album is credited to GOOD Music, the song should be too. I understand the intent, but we wouldn't use a name like, say, Around the World (Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante and Chad Smith song). --BDD (talk) 05:29, 29 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Weak Support seems like the better choice out of several controversial names. Tiggerjay (talk) 20:01, 31 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
