This album is the voice of God. It will wrench your soul out of your body, polish it until it glitters and shines, and return it to your body intact, leaving you breathless. --Moly 15:32, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Coltrane and Sanders edit

Does anyone know on which channel Coltrane is playing and on which Sanders? It's clear that one of them is appearing on the left channel and one on the right, but I'm often wondering who is who...XMalteX (talk) 09:21, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

On the copy currently in my collection (which I think came from a CD edition I purchased around 1988), Coltrane is primarily on the left channel. However, the two saxophonists are very distinctive and easily recognized. Coltrane's playing is highly virtuosic standard saxophone technique, with the addition of some high shrieks and multiphonics. Sanders' playing (from this era) is nearly all shrieks and harsh effects, with virtually no "normal" tones of the sort normally expected from a trained musician. On "The Father And The Son And The Holy Ghost", Coltrane's solo starts at about 2:15, and Sanders takes over at 6:32. Coltrane also plays bass clarinet on this track from around 9:00 to 9:30, which is not credited in the liner notes.Davidstuartbruce (talk) 21:17, 3 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
