COI and cleanup required edit

I removed the other tags in the spirit of "please don't bite the newcomer." The subject appears notable and the overall form of the article seems fair to me, but there are some substantial issues to overcome. The biggest being that this article contains facts that aren't generally available or verifiable. This is called original research and is not allowed. That is one of the reasons that autobiographies are strongly discouraged, along with the difficulty in being neutral presenting information about oneself. A Google search includes reliable reports about a resignation of some sort resulting from an e-mail critical of then-Senator Clinton. This is part of the notability of the subject and probably needs to be included in a factual, neutral way. Some of the other issues include reorganizing the Career section to flow chronologically and wikifying the references. I'll make a pass at wikifying the references and adding fact tags for some of the details that need sourcing. I've only looked briefly at the supplied links, but, for instance, I found nothing that supported the claim that the subject was the first openly gay senior leader in the NAACP. a footnote was added related to the Senator Clinton matter with an msnbc cite. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.82.144.213 (talk) 07:39, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is no "original research" that I see. Every item seems to be sourced! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nnjrental (talkcontribs) 06:56, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

citation needed tags on a BLP article edit

I'm operating under the assumption that these facts can't be both contentious and COI. Please don't remove the citation needed or the facts until someone has time to find reliable sources. Celestra (talk) 02:16, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I sourced a few items. Aren't all the facts sources at this time? It seems to comply with policies... UWI April 2010

Correcting M.A. graduation date of A. A. Thorne edit

My name is Hugh C. Thorne, grandson of A. A. Thorne. My father, A. P. Thorne is still alive and advises that A. A. Thorne finished his M.A. in 1891 but, by law, had to wait until his 21st birthday (1892) to receive the degree. By then he had emigrated to British Guiana. 70.45.17.47 (talk) 00:02, 17 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
