No need for (horse) in title
editI suggest this be moved to just plain Maud S.. There's no need to add the "(horse)" because there are no other articles which conflict with the name. RoySmith (talk) 21:25, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- I wouldn't object to that. I only appended the (horse) part because a fair number of other horse articles were done that way, but I see now that you are right, most of those are the result of name conflicts.Brianyoumans (talk) 23:21, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- OK, done. It looks weird to have the trailing dot, but as far as I can tell, that's actually part of the horse's name so left it in. RoySmith (talk) 23:28, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! Yes, the period was part of the name. The horse was named after the owner's daughter, Maud Stone. It seemed to be pretty common at the time to name a horse in some way after the owner or a member of the family. Like Jay Eye See, one of Maud S.'s competitors - J. I. C. were the owner's initials.
