Clean up edit

This article has an over-reliance on block quotes and galleries. Clean up should involve stating the facts as reported in the quoted newspaper articles (there is no need to mention in the body text which newspapers, unless the facts are controversial, in which case an alternative point-of-view should be offered) and then using proper citation to back up those facts. I think all the references are there but the article's prose needs to be tightened and should also checked for neutrality so that it doesn't come across as an advertisement for McDaniel's cause. This is not a personal commentary pro or con on the validity of the cause, I just want the encyclopedia to be encyclopedic. Valfontis (talk) 13:34, 14 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Court case edit

I believe WP:BLP requires us to remove the section called "Grand jury indictment on charges of physical assault and sexual abuse of a minor". I removed that section. See diff.

See: WP:BLP#People accused of a crime. Short link: WP:BLPCRIME. Quote from it:

This section (WP:BLPCRIME) applies to individuals who are not public figures; that is, individuals not covered by WP:WELLKNOWN. For relatively unknown people, editors must seriously consider not including material—in any article—that suggests the person has committed, or is accused of having committed, a crime, unless a conviction has been secured. A living person accused of a crime is presumed innocent until convicted by a court of law. Accusations, investigations and arrests do not amount to a conviction.

The charges were dismissed. See:

Click on the "smart search" button on the bottom.

Enter "McDaniel, Matthew Duncan". Click on the result list items for details and final resolutions.

All of the criminal cases were dismissed except for the most recent misdemeanor one about "livestock at large" which is ongoing.

There is more info in these articles here and here. -- Timeshifter (talk) 01:57, 28 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
