New Balance

Is the New Balance show factory still in operation? If so, it should be mentioned: a working UK clothing factory is something of a rarity these days! 86.132.141.14 (talk) 17:38, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Solway Firth claim in lead

The lead section claims that Maryport is the "southernmost town on the Solway Firth". However, the article for the Solway itself says it starts at St Bees, which would make Whitehaven the southernmost town. Workington's article also mentions that it is on the Solway, and indeed most definitions of the Solway that I can find seem broader than just the stretch of sea from Maryport up. I won't change the claim for now, but I will add a "citation needed" tag to give the original editor an opportunity to cite the claim. Perhaps, if suitable evidence can be found, the sentence could be changed to something like "claims to be the southernmost town..." Pitipaci (talk) 12:50, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

CCHT external link

This link was added to the article after discussion on the WP Reliable Sources Noticeboard. See: WP:RSN exercise. No information from the CCHT link has been put into the body of the article in the form of citations because it has not yet been verified for 100% accuracy by the Victoria County History project for Cumbria.
