Services edit

I intend (as soon as I get a moment) to make some edits on the grounds that there is currently service-pattern information in the intro para duplicating that in the Services section proper. Some other "notes to myself" (or for the use of any other editor who wants to beat me to it) for when I return:

Quote: some express services do stop -- ALL trains calling at Market Harborough are officially expresses, inasmuch as they all belong to Class 1 ("express passenger train").

Quote: With occasional rush hour Inter City 125 (HST) trains stopping at Kettering towards London St. Pancras, Nottingham or Sheffield. -- needs a verb, and some clarification (Kettering towards ... Sheffield?). -- Picapica 13:56, 4 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Short platforms edit

Any other Network Rail (or franchised) stations with short platforms where mainline services call? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.79.208.19 (talk) 08:35, 24 October 2012‎

Yes, Stonehouse has platforms only about 50 metres long - just over two coach lengths; but there is a direct service to and from Paddington every two hours. This is normally worked by a 7-coach HST - so five coaches are not adjacent to platforms. --Redrose64 (talk) 13:29, 24 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
