This page should be deleted.
I have been watching Dr. Siddall's career and I have been watching this page and I am certain this page should be deleted in keeping with Wikipedia guidelines on BLP.
1) The page is "negative in tone" and appears to have been "created primarily to disparage the subject". It has been repeatedly vandalized to disparage the subject. It appears that Wikipedia admin Drmies has removed neutral well-sourced items that would make the page more balanced. Drmies has also reverted text to an obviously disparaging and misleading version.
2) Misuse of primary sources: Siddall has been described as "a staunch supporter of parsimony and a harsh critic of maximum likelihood approaches” to inferring phylogenies.[6]"
- intentionally fails to provide the full sentence in reference [6]
"There had been a prior complaint filed against him with the museum by Dr. Susan Perkins in 2017.[2]"
- by juxt-apposition suggests that the complaint was of a similar nature whereas the NY Times article explains clearly that it was not.
In fact, the selective use of the primary source [2] confirms the purpose of the page is "primarily to disparage the subject".
3) People who are relatively unknown: "Material that may adversely affect a person's reputation should be treated with special care"
4) Subjects notable only for one event: "avoid having an article on a person when" ... "reliable sources cover the person only in the context of a single event" - in this case a single NY Tims article. "If that person otherwise remains, and is likely to remain, a low-profile individual. Biographies in these cases can give undue weight to the event and conflict with neutral point of view."
5) People accused of crime: Siddall IS accused of a crime in the NY Times article but should be "presumed innocent until convicted by a court of law." Siddall has not been tried in a court of law. While he HAS been investigated, "Accusations, investigations and arrests do not amount to a conviction." Siddall has not been convicted. "For individuals who are not public figures; that is, individuals not covered by § Public figures, editors must seriously consider not including material—in any article—that suggests the person has committed, or is accused of having committed, a crime, unless a conviction has been secured." No conviction has been secured.
6) Subject fails the tests of Notability and the tests of Notability_(academics) Also from the Wikipedia's Notability page: "A living person accused of a crime is presumed not guilty unless and until the contrary is decided by a court of law. Editors must give serious consideration to not creating an article on an alleged perpetrator when no conviction is yet secured." Psmythe2 (talk) 22:27, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
