The article does not make any mention of the original Marie Curie (presumably from where the charity gets it's name). Should we establish the link between the two (if indeed, one does exist)? ~J349 (talk) 15:15, 12 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
I had noticed this myself and indeed wondered whether it was named after a different Marie Curie and the fact that the famous one was connected with the treatment of cancer was just a coinicidence. It actually took a surprising amount of digging to establish the link, because the charity's own website doesn't make it explicit either! The facts: the charity took its name from the now-defunct Marie Curie Hospital where it was originally based, and yes, the hospital was named after THAT Marie Curie, with her explicit permission [1]. I haven't figured out how to include this in the article without the explanation feeling a bit "clunky", but I hope someone else can do so. In the meantime I've linked her name in the name of the hospital, since that's where the real-world link is. --Walnuts go kapow (talk) 14:29, 16 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
