Page protection edit

Especially since the "Hamilton" musical show Hamilton related pages have been subject to all sorts of vandalism and have consequently been put under semi-protection so that entries by non autoconfirmed users must be subject to revision before going online. This is true for the pages related to Alexander Hamilton himself, as well as related characters Eliza Schuyler Hamilton, Angelica Schuyler Church, Philip Hamilton, Aaron Burr, MARIA REYNOLDS, etc. Please respect the decision made by the administrators some time ago to ensure better patrolling of pages that are particularly subject to vandalism. @Isananni: There has been no disruption since protection expired. If significant disruption starts up again please make a protection request at WP:RFPP. --NeilN talk to me 13:51, 23 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
@NeilN: Thank you NeiN, that's the information I needed. Have a nice day. Isananni (talk) 14:00, 23 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

[sic] notations edit

In the long quote from the letter, there were numerous annoying '[sic]' inserts. Spelling and punctuation had not been standardized in those days; even legal documents like wills and deeds that I have seen from that period and later show similar spelling differences in them. A note in the introductory paragraph that I have put in would be more appropriate for this 18th Century letter. Shocking Blue (talk) 07:57, 26 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the edit. I think it makes for a better reading experience, if reading such an appaling example of semianalphabetism can ever be good, let alone the despicable circumstances of that letter. Thanks again. Isananni (talk) 08:28, 26 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
Glad it helped. I went to this article due to Hamilton (naturally) and saw what was written. I researched my family history extensively in the 1970's and 1980's and had to try to decipher this kind of writing many times, though it usually wasn't this bad! BTW, I hadn't heard this fun word "semianalphabetism" before. Shocking Blue (talk) 13:27, 28 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
